Point Blank

Alex Rider begins his second adventure in Point Blank, a book by Anthony Horowitz that has 274 pages. Alex is recruited once again by MI6, to investigate an all boys boarding school, Point Blanc, after two mysterious deaths. The school only caters to rich boys, which suits the needs of the school's director, Hugo Grief, very well. He "needs" to rule the world with fourteen-year-old clones of himself. Dr. Grief surgically altered his clones, and used them to replace the real fourteen-year-old boys so they could collect the fortunes the parents would one day leave behind. After getting captured by Grief, Alex learned about this plan right before he escaped, went snowboarding down a mountain, and died. This book is amazing and everyone should read it.

Night

Night by Holocaust survivor Elie Wiesel has 110 pages. 15 year old Elie is forced from his home into a crowded getto. He is later deported to a concentration camp. Elie is at war with himself in his head. This becomes the main conflict, character vs self.

The main conflict in this book is character vs self. Elie is at war with himself. First, his belief in God is shattered, but part of him wants to believe. Then when his father died he felt relief, then only guilt. Lastly, he had surgery on his foot but wanted to leave the camp so he wouldn't be killed in the hospital. Thats why the main conflict is character vs self.
